Great place to grab an affordable bite before a Royals game. Right off i 70 and the turkey bacon medium sub is delicious as I've gotten it almost every time! I'd highly suggest this for a quick bite to eat!!!

My husband and I have been there a few times. It's never been overly busy. We get our food in about 5 minutes. When you walk in, there's a maze of tables one has to maneuver to get to the area where you place your order. I remember the first time I was in there. I thought you placed your order next to the hot sauces nope. You place it at the other end. Menu is a short of hard to read. But, luckily they have the menu below too. The only thing I eat from here is the kids meatball on wheat. You get 3 meatballs, sauce and cheese. Kids meals get their choice of chips, cookie or krispy treat. I always get the krispy treat. But most of the time they forget to place it in my order. Today, we eat inside and I had to ask for it. Oh well. I normally love their cherry limeades. But today, it was NASTY!!!!! So its a hit and miss any time we come. Hence, we only come maybe 4 times a year.

Best sub in town and you can help out your local fire departments as well. Great selection, something for every!

Very good option if your forced to eat fastfood often and get tired of the standard burgers and fries joint. It was leagues ahead of the other standard sandwich place(Subway). Forget about the missing inch, there is none of that here. they may cost a buck or so more than other places but you are getting about 2x's the sandwich. But beyond just size the sandwiches are filled with quality fresh ingredients and offered in a variety of inspired combinations.

My boyfriend and I were out running errands and stopped in for lunch. Excellent subs, and great service. The turkey and cranberry sub was delish!!! Lots to choose from and the prices are pretty reasonable. Definitely worth a try.

This was my first visit here and I decided to get the steak and cheese..... it was horrible! From the reviews, I thought this place would've been better than Subway..... was I wrong! The steak tastes EXACTLY like subway. NASTY! LOW QUALITY! JUST DISGUSTING. And the bread gets soggy fast . I'm just disappointed. If I go back, I'd try the chili and cookies, maybe.

Ok where to begin. This place is much better than Subway....however there are some issues. If you order your sandwich hot you are going to get soggy bread with meat. It is awful. The cold version on the sandwich is probably much better. But if you get a sandwich that is warm, because they steam the meat, you will get a disgusting glop of mush with meat in the middle. I even gave them a second chance!! I got the same thing. A soggy mushy roll with meat in the middle. If there was a way for them to cure the soggy roll issue I would give them a much better rating. The worst part is they did it twice in a row!! There is no quality control. If you love meat between gloppy mushy bread this is the place for you. As for me I am not going back.

My last few visits have been less then stellar. Took the wife and she ordered her sandwich with wheat, I got mine on white. I ordered mine fully involved. Our sandwiches come out, mine is made with wheat and her's with white. Mine doesn't have anything on it except meat and some mustard. I forgave this and went back again. This time I got the New York steamer that has beef brisket, pastrami. I asked for fully involved and was informed that it only comes with mustard and stuff. I ask for it fully involved with lettuce, onion etc. It doesn't come out that way and I counted 1 slice of pastrami that covered both slices of bread. I looked around for the brisket for a few minutes and found something that could have been brisket but I didn't have enough material to properly taste was it was. When the guy came by to ask how my sandwich was I asked what fully involved meant? He said everything on it, so I showed him my sandwich. The look I got was the same look Roger used to give me when I was 16 years old. Roger was a blind man at the YMCA that I assisted with swimming in the pool. For fun I used to tell Roger that red shorts were not allowed in the swimming area. I would get the same blank stare that his employee gave me. I like Firehouse because I'd get a great sandwich that is piled up with meat. Today was an off day.

I just discovered Firehouse Subs a few weeks ago when we were shopping across the way and suddenly got really hungry, really fast. Where to go....where to go....look, there's a sub shop over there. Let's try that. And now I'm a fan. They have a whole bunch of choices with names like Hook and Ladder , the Engineer and the Firehouse Hero. They offer both hot and cold choices and have two sizes with 8" and 12" versions. The ones we have had so far include their Firehouse Meatball that comes on choice of white or wheat roll sliced open but not cut through and is loaded with very tasty meatballs, then covered in sauce and slices of melted provolone. It CAN be eaten as a sandwich but you may find it easier to use a knife and fork. We also tried a Smokehouse Brisket and Cheddar on another visit and it had a generous stack of tender brisket and a nice sweet-based BBQ sauce. Unless you have a huge appetite you may not be able to finish off a 12" sub but they will gladly supply you with a take home box as Hubby found out with his cold turkey and cheese sub with all the trimmings. The shop is decorated with lots of firehouse related stuff like helmets and jackets and big, bright murals and the legend on the door says it was "Founded by Firemen". This just may be true because the food is hearty and plentiful and was very good on our first two visits. We will definitely seek them out when we are in the neighborhood again.

Mighty tasty sandwiches and surprisingly good value. There should be one of these in every neighborhood. One drawback (based on a single visit) is that in spite of many employees, the service is slow and the system doesn't appear to operate efficiently, or intuitively. It won't keep me from another visit, but my inner-manager wants to make this place groove.

Firehouse Subs is founded by firemen, caters to firemen, but also serves the best tasting sandwich to anyone with a burning desire for meat and cheese. Served on steaming hot bread, Firehouse serves mouthwatering subs; a favorite being the Hook and Ladder Sub®: Smoked turkey breast and Virginia honey ham smothered with Monterey Jack and served "fully involved." * Fully involved = Mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion and a dill spear. Each and every time you walk through the doors, you will be greeted with a chorus of "Welcome to Firehouse!" The decor of the restaurant matches the employee's charm: absolutely amazing. The restaurant is adorned with helmets, hoses, and other firemen gear. Firehouse even has Dalmatian printed tables! Not in the mood for a blazing sub? Try their Chief's salad or award winning chili. No matter what you order, Firehouse Subs is guaranteed to set your taste buds aflame and will set in you a sizzling passion for more!

I've only been here twice but it will be added to my small circle of favorites. The staff is friendly, the sammys are awesome, the pop machine has cherry limeade, and they have a sauce bar! I am a sauce gal, a dipper if you please, and this sauce bar is amazing. All your favorites sauces at your fingertips. The turkey bacon ranch is my go-to. Great place for cheap-eats. Not to mention they have a large chip selection, which I dig.

Firehouse Subs is probably the best franchised sub shop I've been in. Subs are served hot, and loaded with meat and cheese. You can order double meat but the medium is more the enough food for me. The meats are quality, and the bread always tastes fresh. They also have a signature hot sauce. It's not real hot and a little sweet but adds a great flavor. They have a great variety of other hot sauces if you want to add spice to your sub. The staff is very friendly and the place is always clean. Once you try it you'll be hooked. I go there once a week. My only complaint would be that it gets very crowded at times, and would love to see them expand into the currently vacant storefront next door before someone else moves in.
